Otis was a drifter for much of his life, traveling over the country from Wilmington, Delaware to Hurst, Texas. In the small town of Ruggsville, Texas, he met Cutter (later to be known as Captain Spaulding), and was soon living with his new friend's family, whom he had renamed "the Fireflies". This family consisted of Cutter's girlfriend, who was then called Eve Wilson, whom Driftwood nicknamed "Mama Firefly"; Eve's two sons, Rufus and Tiny; and the daughter of Captain Spaulding/Cutter Vera-Ellen, with whom Otis formed an immediate bond and nicknamed “Baby”. On two occasions, he wears his victim's skin as a costume and fights with Spaulding for control of the family. Although Otis is albino in the first film, writer/director Rob Zombie didn't think it would fit the style and realism of the sequel.

Since its release, the film has achieved a cult following, was developed into a haunted-house attraction by Zombie for Universal Studios, and was followed by two sequels, The Devil's Rejects (2005) and 3 from Hell (2019). He would not, however, have another role as popular as Chop Top until 2003, when he starred as the maniacal Otis B. Driftwood (named after Groucho Marx's character from A Night at the Opera) in Rob Zombie's directorial debut House of 1000 Corpses. He played in other Rob Zombie films such as Halloween and the Grindhouse fake trailer segment Werewolf Women of the SS.

The Firefly family house can be found on the backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood, where it was built for 1982 musical The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. Also on the backlot is the street where Don Willis (Harrison Young, familiar as the older Private Ryan) lives – apparently a neighbour of the Munsters. Rob Zombie delivers the kind of balls-out horror movie all 12-year-old boys want to make, before dreary good taste saps that furious energy. In 2019, Moseley appeared in Gothic Harvest with Lin Shaye and Sofia Mattsson, directed by Ashley Hamilton. Horror Fuel magazine reports that Moseley will star in the horror film Jasper alongside Michael Berryman, Kane Hodder and Bill Oberst in 2022. Manes was introduced to House of 1,000 Corpses while playing Tubi roulette a few years ago, and was instantly drawn to how the movie reveled in its own wickedness.

As a result, up until the Chinese Cemetery of Los Angeles was built in 1922 by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Los Angeles, Chinese citizens could only be buried in a potter's field owned by the County. Racism against the Chinese community didn't stop at their burial plots, though. Around the same time, Los Angeles razed the original Chinatown to make way for Union Station.
A Brief History of Scent With Saskia Wilson-Brown
By winter of 1976, Otis continued on his murder spree, but Baby decided to return to Ruggsville to be with her family. He is not without humanity, however; he shares a bond of love and loyalty with his family, particularly his adoptive sister Baby, of whom he is fiercely protective. His relationship with his "father" Captain Spaulding is more combative; in the first film, he calls Spaulding an "old bitch", while in the second film, they frequently argue. She makes her way to the main road where she encounters Captain Spaulding, who gives her a ride in his car. She passes out from exhaustion in the front seat, and Otis suddenly appears in the back seat with a knife.

Later, in the winter of 1976, Baby returned to Ruggsville alone and resumed her life on the Firefly farm while Driftwood continued his murderous rampage. Otis traveled across the country stealing and selling cars to survive, but eventually returned to Ruggsville and resumed his relationship with Baby and the other Firefly family members. This film confirms that Driftwood is by far the most aggressive member of the Firefly family. Though he bickers with the family, he is shown to be quite loyal to them. When four young adults are at his house, due to their tire being shot by Rufus, he came down to join their Halloween Eve dinner. Although it’s unknown if he only came to disturb the wandering couples or to please Mama Firefly.

In the season four episode "The Chair Model," Michael Scott falls in love with a model in a catalogue, only to discover she had passed away in a car accident. He and Dwight go to her resting spot, which happens to be at Mountain View. It's not the only cemetery scene shot there, though; Six Feet Under (the O.G. goth L.A. show), Desperate Housewives, and Seinfeld all shot there as well.

As anyone familiar with his music videos can attest to, it's not a surprise that Zombie has etched his name in the annals of horror movie history. What is surprising is that House of 1000 Corpses took such a long and winding road to the theaters, that he initially thought he wouldn't be making sequels, and above all, that it was his first film. The movie simply feels too self-assured, too confident, and frankly, too good to be a first outing. Horror fans might be familiar with the fact that House of 1000 Corpses was inspired by 1970s horror films such as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. However, they might be surprised to learn that the villains' names were influenced by comedian Groucho Marx.

Denise later wakes up to find herself strapped to an operating table, surrounded by Dr. Satan and Earl, who survived the cave-in. The movie ends with Denise screaming in horror and the words "The End?" displayed before the end credits. Advertised on its completion as “the most beautiful storage building in the world,” this 1928 high rise once boasted a penthouse club called “The Thirteenth Heaven,” complete with angel-winged waiters. And where there are bootleggers, there are mobsters - this may be the source of the mysterious screams still heard from the elevator shaft. Take a deeper dive into the story of the infamous house with The Los Feliz Murder Mansion podcast.
“Lionsgate made back all their money the first day,” Zombie crowed to the A.V. House of 1,000 Corpses draws heavily from the horror canon that Zombie feasted on growing up in the sleepy town of Haverhill, Massachusetts, in the years before he went off to New York City to found White Zombie and become a heavy metal god. Fans can check out 3 From Hell during a special three-night event beginning on September 16th. It's even harder to grasp that the world has lost an enormous number of the actors who starred in the cult classic since its release. On October 30th, 1977, Otis encountered four youths who were invited into his home courtesy of Mother Firefly. The guests consisted of Bill Hudley, Mary Knowles, Denise Willis and Jerry Goldsmith. As they drove away from the Firefly home, Otis and his brothers Rufus and Tiny ambushed them in the middle of the road.
Look more closely, however, and you’ll find that this cemetery is the basin of L.A.’s history. The cemetery was built in 1884, far before many of the cemeteries on this list, and every name of L.A.’s mythology can be found among the gravestones. Phineas Banning, who founded the town of Wilmington and laid the foundation for the Port of Los Angeles, can be found here as well. It's worth mentioning that this space is far less busy than any of the other, more popular cemeteries, so take your time as you mingle with the dead. House of 1000 Corpses is graphic and disturbing — just look at the title. The movie's violence and sadism led to it not being able to shake an NC-17 rating, caused Universal to shelve it.
At the House of Blues, he met a statuesque 40-year-old actress named Lana Clarkson. They went to Pyrenees Castle for "just one drink." Clarkson never left the house - her body was found slumped in a chair with a single gunshot wound to her mouth. Spector's driver, who made the emergency call from the castle, later testified that Spector said, "I think I've killed someone." Spector was sentenced in May 2009. Hollywood’s first cemetery was founded in 1899 on a 100-acre land located on Santa Monica Boulevard. Hollywood Forever is famous as the resting place of some of Hollywood’s famous celebrities, including Peter Lorre, who was famous for his role as serial killer Hans Beckert in the German thriller M. For a truly horrific grave visit, make sure to stop by founder of Griffith Park, Griffith J. Griffith’s grave.
Initially known as the Morningside Cemetery, the San Fernando Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in Sylmar is one of the most enigmatic cemeteries in the area. With businesses and real estate rapidly increasing, the size of the cemetery eventually trickled down to 3.8 acres of land. It had been privately owned for most of its existence, and the last officially noted burial was in 1939. In 1959, the Native Daughters of the Golden West were handed the rights to the cemetery and since then attempted to preserve it.
One location you could be forgiven for not recognising is the laboratory of Dr Satan and the dungeon in which the Fireflies stock up with cheerleaders. It’s the basement of the old Ambassador Hotel, which stood at 3400 Wilshire Boulevard, midtown Los Angeles (seen in films as diverse as The Graduate, Oliver Stone’s The Doors, True Romance, S.W.A.T., Rocky and Se7en.). No longer a functioning diner, or gas station for that matter, the Four Aces is one of several such establishments in the area, now solely used as sets for movies, pop promos, ads and photoshoots. It’s the Four Aces Diner, at East Avenue Q, on the northwest corner of East 145th Street, about five miles east of Palmdale in the California desert. If that sounds like it’s in the centre of a bustling downtown, it’s not. The empty desert is measured out in a grid of streets and avenues, presumably for the inevitable day when the suburbs of Los Angeles sprawl out to the Nevada border.
In addition, famed murderer Louise Peete, convicted of killing three or more victims, also rests in Angelus-Rosedale Cemetery after a gas chamber execution in 1947. Its age, coupled with its lack of upkeep, makes for a straight up haunting cemetery. It's now the perfect place to snap a picture for the album cover for your Morrissey cover band. It also houses the burial site for the Japanese Americans who fought in the 442 Regimental Combat Unit during WWII. There's even a site where 400 former carnies are buried; the Pacific Coast Showmen's Association Plot was reserved for retired or out-of-work carnies. The explosion of the movie’s fanbase really hit actor Robert Allen Mukes, who played Rufus Firefly, for the first time a few years ago, when he signed an autograph for a 12-year-old girl.
